Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data Skapheim: The Tenth Realm can send to its developers during the Steam Playtest, why, and how you control it. Sharing is off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time.

What the game collects
If you agree to share gameplay data, the game sends records of how you play:
- gameplay events: runs started and ended, seasons and their scores, items bought, sold and placed, shop rerolls, contracts and their outcomes;
- random identifiers for the game session and for each run, and a random identifier for the installation that is created anew every time the game starts;
- the game version and the time of each event.
The game does not collect your Steam ID, your name, your email address, information about your hardware, or any identifier that stays the same between game sessions. The data is not linked to your Steam account or to your computer, and we cannot tell which records came from you.
The game also keeps a record of play in its own data folder on your computer. That record stays on your computer unless you agree to share it.
Why and on what basis
We use the data only to understand how the game is played, so we can improve the tutorial, the game balance and the overall player experience. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not combine it with other data about you.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; for storing and reading the data on your device, § 25(1) TDDDG). The game asks for it the first time you start it.
Your choice
You can turn sharing on or off at any time in the game under Settings → Share gameplay data. When it is off, nothing is sent. Sessions played while sharing was off are never sent, even if you turn it on later.
Where the data goes
The data is stored with Supabase, Inc., which hosts it for us in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). Uploads pass through Cloudflare's network, which Supabase uses. Both process the data on our behalf and only to provide this service:

Your IP address. Like any server, the hosting service sees the IP address each upload comes from. Its technical logs record the IP address, an approximate location derived from it, your internet provider and the user agent, together with the upload's address, which contains the random session identifier. These logs are kept for one day and then deleted. We do not export or keep them, and we do not use them to identify players.
How long we keep it
We keep the gameplay data while we analyse the playtest, and no longer than six months after the playtest ends. Then it is deleted.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time without affecting what was processed before. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
Because the data carries no identifier that stays the same between sessions and is not linked to you, we are usually unable to find the records that came from you, and so cannot provide or delete them individually (Art. 11 GDPR). If you can give us information that lets us identify your data, we will act on your request. To stop future sharing, turn it off in Settings. Write to privacy@jamjarjet.dev with any request; we reply within one month.
Children
If you are under 16, please ask a parent or guardian before you turn on sharing gameplay data.
Steam
The game is distributed through Steam. Valve collects and processes data under its own privacy policy: store.steampowered.com/privacy_agreement. We receive no personal data from Steam for the purposes described here.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, the game asks for your consent again. The date at the top shows the latest version.
